Fraser Lake residents are being notified that the Emergency Department at Fraser Lake Health Centre will be closed on Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, due to staffing challenges. The Primary Care Clinic will remain open during regular hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the lab will continue operating from 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on weekdays.
For emergencies requiring immediate attention, such as chest pains or severe bleeding, residents are urged to call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available medical facility. Signage will be posted at the health centre with instructions for patients.
For non-urgent care, individuals without a primary care provider can access the Northern Health Virtual Clinic from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily by calling 1-844-645-7811. Indigenous residents can also use the First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day service at 1-855-344-3800.
HealthLink BC is available 24/7 at 8-1-1 for advice from healthcare professionals on non-emergency concerns. The community is asked to remain patient and understanding as the health centre works to resolve staffing issues.
