Those planning to fly out of Vancouver’s YVR airport this holiday season are being advised to check in with their airline.
Nearly 30 cms of snowfall over the past few days has led to the cancellation of hundreds of flights in to and out of the airport.
As a result, most airline companies have introduced new options for passengers looking to cancel or change their flight plans.
Air Canada is waiving re-booking fees and providing flight vouchers for those scheduled to fly in or out of YVR before Christmas.
WestJet is allowing passengers to proactively cancel flight reservations between now and Boxing Day for a full refund.
With conditions remaining poor, and many flights being rescheduled, the delays are expected to persist through the holiday season.
This morning, the airport announced they would be limiting all international flights for the next 48 hours.
