An investigation has been launched by the BC Coroners Service after a man was found dead in a homeless encampment in Terrace last week.
City bylaw officers discovered the man’s body last Thursday morning while conducting proactive patrols at the camp on the 4500 block of Greig Avenue.
RCMP say the man’s death was related to the frigid overnight temperatures, and do not believe it to be suspicious.
According to the Ksan Society, there were shelter spaces available to the man on the night of his passing, which for whatever reason, he opted not to access.
Residents in need of a warm place to rest overnight can find the Society’s extreme weather shelter at 4444 Lakelse Avenue.
