A good Samaritan was seriously injured while attempting to help the victims of a motor vehicle collision in Quesnel on Friday.
Just after 6:00 in the evening, RCMP were called out to the 5800 block of Highway 97 for reports of the single-vehicle collision.
A Ford F-350 pick-up had gone off the road amid slippery road conditions and poor visibility, eventually ending up in a ditch.
Two other vehicles stopped and attempted to pull the truck out of the ditch, while a 74 year-old neighbour assisted with traffic control.
But, the man was struck by another vehicle which was unable to stop on the icy roads, and was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Two occupants of the F-350 also received minor injuries during the initial crash.
