BC’s Prosecution Service is launching a recruitment drive, in part to fill vacancies created by the province’s new Safer Communities Action Plan.
Part of that plan, announced in November, includes the creation of a series of dedicated Repeat Violent Offender Response Teams.
Those collaborative teams will share 21 dedicated prosecutors, 21 probation officers, 21 support personnel, and 9 correctional supervisors.
In order to fill those new positions, as well as combat existing challenges, the Service is looking to hire up to 40 Crown Counsel in 2023.
Their immediate focus is on lawyers with at least 6 years of trial experience, but applications from all qualified individuals are being encouraged.
