Avalanche risks are on the rise once again across most of the north, according to Avalanche Canada.
Danger ratings have been set to stage 4 for both coastal and inland sections of the Northcoast, west of Kitwanga and north of Hartley Bay.
That is the second highest risk level on their scale, and warns of a high likelihood of large avalanches, both natural and human-caused.
Avalanche Canada says the increase in rating is due to rain and heavy winds weakening and moving an already weak lower snowpack.
Risks across the rest of the Stikine and Bulkley Valley have been set to stage 3, denoting considerable risk of natural avalanches, and a high likelihood of human-caused slides.
Danger ratings are also set to stage 4 through the Rockies in both the Interior and Peace regions.
Residents are advised to avoid stormy areas, loose slabs, mountainsides and travel in the backcountry.
