British Columbians who need to use the ferry to get to their medical appointments will no longer need to pay to do so.
BC Ferries is waiving the $18 booking fee for any passenger travelling to access medical services not available in their home communities.
In order to have their fees waived, passengers must first qualify for the Province’s Travel Assistance Program.
Residents can be referred to the program by their physician, a nurse practitioner, or specialty clinic.
Customers with a Medical Assured Loading letter allowing them to avoid waits at the terminal will not be impacted.
You can find more information on the Travel Assistance Program at this link.
