A helicopter which lost control at the Smithers Regional Airport last weekend has claimed one life, and seriously injured another worker.
According to reports, the helicopter had been undergoing maintenance on the ground when it began to spin uncontrollably.
It then proceeded to strike a pair of maintenance workers, before the pilot was able to shut down the engine and regain control.
Unfortunately, one of the workers would pass away from his injuries, while the other would be airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
That report comes from an initial release from the Transportation Safety Board, as they begin an investigation into the incident.
