Thirteen rural businesses and communities impacted by forestry policy changes will be gaining new Regional Business Liaisons.
Through the Northern Development Initiative Trust, the positions are funded by $1.5 million from the Rural Business and Community Recovery program.
Aimed to incentivize Community Futures Development corporations and communities to hire local liaisons, the position will be funded for one year to provide business support services.
Organizations approved for positions include the District of Fort St. James, Community Futures Pacific Northwest, and the First Nations Business Development Association.
Other approved Community Futures locations include Cariboo Chilcotin, North Cariboo, Peace Liard, and Fraser Fort George.
