To inform legislation on addressing systemic racism, the province is offering an online questionnaire.
Set to be introduced in 2024, the legislation aims to hold government accountable for addressing systemic racism within its services.
If passed, the legislation could require the government to change laws and policies to ensure better representation of marginalized communities.
Being developed with Indigenous people, the legislation would build on the Anti-Racism Data Act to identify gaps and barriers Indigenous and other racialized people face.
In addition to the survey, the province is offering grants up to $5,000 for organizations and Indigenous governments to conduct their own public consultation.
Applications for that grant are open until June 23rd at 5 pm.
Meanwhile, the online questionnaire will be available until September 30 and is available in 15 languages.
