In light of wildfire stats across BC, a partial Category 1 fire ban will be put in place in the Northwest fire centre.
Category 1 fires will be prohibited in the Nadina Fire Zone starting tomorrow at noon while category 2 and 3 fires remain banned for the rest of the province.
Under a category 1 ban, things like fireworks, sky lanterns, burn vessels of any size, torches and air curtain burners are all included.
Though outdoor stoves that use briquettes or liquid fuel are permissible so long as the flame doesn’t exceed 15 centimetres high.
The entire Prince George fire centre will also be under a category 1 ban starting at the same time.
Those prohibitions will remain in place until September 30 or until rescinded.
