BC Parks is seeking feedback from park users in the Hazeltons on the recent changes to Ross Lake Provincial Park.
That comes after crews removed a clogged earthen dam which had been built in the 1900s, causing the lake to recede by roughly 18 inches.
Formerly located on the north side of the lake, the dam’s outlet plugged in the fall of 2020, causing the lake to flood.
An environmental study followed, as BC Parks worked out the best way to remove the dam without harming local wildlife.
It was removed in 2022, with the lower water level providing more beach space and a steeper boat launch and pier.
Now, park users are being asked to fill out an online survey to provide feedback on the changes.
You can follow this link for more information on the survey, which will be open until July 28th.
