More than 1,100 menstrual products have been donated by Prince Rupert residents as part of the United Way’s Period Promise campaign.
Nearly a quarter of Canadians in need cannot afford menstrual products for them or their children, and the campaign seeks to stem that trend.
In Prince Rupert, the program was headed up by the North Coast Transition Society, with four collection sites set up in the City.
They were able to collect a total of 1,152 products, which will be distributed to those in need locally by the Society.
