Trigon’s multi-commodity export terminal at the Port of Prince Rupert stands alone as the top terminal in BC, according to a new report.
They were the only terminal in the province to receive a perfect score on Green Marine’s annual Performance Report for 2022.
With 175 participating ports, terminals, and shipyards, the Green Marine program certifies companies who meet certain environmental criteria.
Their annual report uses a five-scale system to rank each company’s performance across a number of indicators.
Those include: pollution, spill prevention, dry bulk handling and storage, waste management, community impacts, underwater noise, and more.
Trigon received a perfect five in all seven terminal categories, while the average North American terminal hovered around three.
DP World’s Prince Rupert terminal saw a 2.7 average score, AtlaGas saw a 4.6 average, while the Port Authority itself averaged 4.4.
