A 7.2 magnitude earthquake from the weekend had some Alaskan residents ready to evacuate, but the threat was short-lived.
According to the US National Weather Service, the quake hit just over 100 kilometres south of Sand point at 10:48 Saturday night.
Residents report feeling the quake throughout southern Alaska, though tremors failed to reach Haida Gwaii, 2,000 kilometres to the east.
Tsunami alerts had some residents on route to shelters, but advisory would be called off roughly an hour after being issued.
While initially concerned over impacts on the coast, Emergency Management BC quickly confirmed that there was no tsunami threats in the province.
