Last week was a busy one for the Assembly of First Nations, who welcomed more than 1,500 individuals to their Annual General Assembly.
Initial headlines centred around recently expelled National Chief RoseAnne Archibald as the three days of meetings got underway.
Archibald had been voted out the prior week following an investigation into multiple complaints of harassment and bullying.
She would challenge the decision, accusing the AFN of corruption and collusion as she called for her re-instatement.
While Archibald would attend the meetings, she was removed during the first day in an effort to maintain orderly conduct.
Resolutions which support the funding of First Nations policing, and to protect First Nations interest from unfounded Métis Rights assertions also passed.
Leaders were also presented with a report outlining extensive gender and sexual orientation based discrimination within the AFN.
