More staff at the University of Northern BC have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement with the University.
It covers approximately 315 support staff represented by CUPE Local 3799, including teaching assistants, librarians, food and sanitation workers, and more.
Retroactive to last July, the first year of the three year deal will net workers a 25 cent per hour flat wage increase, plus 3.24 percent.
Year two comes with a 5.5 percent flat increase, plus a cost of living adjustment of up to 6.75 percent, with a 2 percent increase and maximum 3 percent adjustment in year three.
Other highlights of the deal include: two days of leave for Indigenous employees, a strengthened leave program, and improved group benefits.
It comes less than a week after the University ratified a new agreement with their Faculty Association.
