Members of the public can now submit their feedback on the draft environmental assessment certificate for the Cariboo Gold project.
Proposed by the Osisko Development Corporation, the underground gold mine would be located near Wells.
If approved, it would produce 4,750 tonnes of ore per day over 16 years, which would then be milled at the existing Quesnel River mill.
A draft assessment report and certificate for the project was released by the Environmental Assessment Office today.
Each of the Williams Lake, Xatsull, and Lhtako Dene First Nations have signed agreements with Osisko relating to the project.
Key concerns raised furing the effects assessment included: reduced air quality, noise levels, impacts on caribou populations, and more.
An open house is being held at the Wells Community Hall at 5:00 this evening, and a Zoom open house will take place next Tuesday.
