It’s not just BC that’s suffering from the treacherous wildfire season, as Canada as a whole has now seen more than 10 million hectares burned.
That makes what was already the worst wildfire season in BC’s history with over 1.4 million hectares burned, also the worst in Canada’s.
A portion of the evacuation order north of Francois Lake has been reduced and added to the existing alert.
Orders and alerts remain in place south of Houston, south of Babine Lake, east of Burns Lake, and in Tintagel.
More evacuation orders are in place at Andrew’s Creek west of Ootsa Lake, and around Great Beaver Lake north of Vanderhoof.
Alerts are also covering Cedarvale and Woodcock, the Fort Babine area, the area around Old Man Lake east of Houston, and north of Stuart Lake.
A large area south of Fraser Lake, Northeast of Tweedsmuir Park, and Northwest of Udy Creek is also seeing multiple alerts and orders.

All open burning remains banned throughout the province, with drought levels maxed out at 5 east of Terrace, and set to 3 from Terrace to the coast.
