Ottawa is providing $2.5 million for two programs to improve mental health supports for Indigenous peoples.
Both projects are led by the First Peoples Wellness Circle and seek to address the disparities and barriers to ensure equitable access to services.
$1.5 million will help them develop, create, and promote new Knowledge Bundles, consisting of mental wellness resources and tools.
Another $1 million will help increase the number of mental health professionals trained to provide culturally-safe services.
