Wildfires have now burned more than 2.3 million hectares across BC this year, surpassing the previous record set in 2018, by over a million.
At the moment, there are just under 400 active fires raging province-wide, half of which are in the Northwest and Prince George Fire Centres.
Evacuation alerts remain around Witset and south of Houston, and a new alert is covering the Babine Lake Provincial Park’s Pinkut Creek Site.
An alert is also in place around Marilla along Ootsa Lake, and an order is covering an area north of where the Nadina River meets Francois Lake.
Orders are also in effect around Lucas Lake on the east end of the Nechako Reservoir, and east of there around Tatuk Lake.
More orders are covering the Great Beaver Lake area north of Vanderhoof, and the Ocock Lake area north of there.
