Sitting Senator, UNBC Professor, and Internationally-renowned Cree Scholar Dr Margo Greenwood has been elected to the Royal Society of Canada.
Dr Greenwood is among 58 new College Members elected by their peers for their outstanding scholarly, scientific and artistic achievements.
Her work over the past 30 years has focused on the health, well-being, and policy development to support Indigenous peoples, particularly children.
In 1997, she moved to northern BC to begin her work at UNBC, where she still serves as a Professor of Education.
Dr Greenwood also served 20 years as the Academic Lead for the National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health, stepping down last year.
