While BC’s state of emergency may have come to an end this morning, the wildfire threat remains on-going across the province.
Crews are still battling nearly 400 active blazes, with 29 evacuation orders still in place provincewide.
Winds of up to 50 kilometres an hour in some regions, including the Northwest, today could prompt increase activity in the area.
Evacuation orders remain in place north of where the Nadina River meets Francois Lake, and around Lucas Lake east of the Nechako Reservoir.
Another order is in place east of there around Tatuk Lake, around Great Beaver Lake north of Vanderhoof, and further north around Ocock Lake.
A massive order is also covering the area around the Omineca Provincial Park, stretching south all the way to Highway 27.
Meanwhile, an alert remains in effect for Witset and the surrounding area, as the John Brown Creek fire grows to over 550 hectares.
Alerts are also in place south of Houston and around Marilla along the Ootsa Lake.
Fire danger ratings are set to moderate in the Skeena, but jump to extreme in the Nechako.
