For the third time since July, a potential strike at a camp housing workers on the Coastal GasLink pipeline is threatening to delay the project.
Operated by Horizon North, the lodge houses up to 1,200 CGL workers and is scheduled to close permanently this year as work winds down.
Now, the 150 room attendants, kitchen staff, janitors, and front desk agents at the lodge are calling for three months of severance per year of work.
It comes on the heels of successful labour discussions at two other lodges, who each avoided a strike authorized by workers earlier this summer.
They saw workers at the Cedar Valley and Crossroads Lodges in Kitimat win sizeable pay increases and workplace protections.
Workers at Parsnip are hoping the move can help them achieve their demands in bargaining, without the need for a strike.
