Improving access to quality health care is a key priority of the Province’s newly announced vision for the future of rural BC.
Released to government officials today, the StrongerBC: Good Lives in Strong Communities plan outlines future investment needs in rural areas.
It includes commitments to deliver high-speed internet to all communities, help transport people and goods, and bring more rural perspectives to government.
But it also includes an initial $20 million investment to enhance medical travel supports from the Canadian Cancer Society and Hope Air.
That funding will help people in rural and remote communities in need of specialized care get to where they need to access those services.
Reconciliation is also a guiding factor in the plan, with many action areas supporting the Declaration Act Plan.
