As the days get shorter and the snow begins to fall, drivers are being warned to keep their eyes peeled for wildlife on the roads, especially moose.
It comes following an incident in Kitimat from Monday, which saw a vehicle collide with one of the continent’s second-largest animals.
Remarkably, the driver was able to escape the crash unscathed, though the same could not be said for the vehicle.
Police say the relative darkness and the fact that it was also the first snowfall of the year prevented the moose from being seen until the last minute.
RCMP are reminding drivers to be careful in the coming months, and to ensure your headlights and taillights are always on after dark.
