This year, Riverboat Days is lighting up the night sky like never before! Say goodbye to traditional fireworks and hello to an innovative drone show. Organizers have teamed up with North Star Drone Shows, renowned for their spectacular displays at events across Canada, including the CNE and the Grey Cup.
Scheduled for Sunday, August 11 at Christy Park after dark, the drone show promises to dazzle with 100 drones choreographed to create stunning, animated patterns. Imagine local landscapes and iconic imagery illuminated in the most unique way!
Brian Downie, president of Riverboat Days, shared his excitement about the shift, highlighting benefits like reduced noise and enhanced visual storytelling. Local businesses have rallied behind the initiative, ensuring this new addition doesn’t impact other festival activities.
With limited parking at Christy Park, organizers are encouraging attendees to walk or cycle, offering them a chance to win prizes through a special draw.
Riverboat Days kicks off August 2 with a 10-day lineup packed with family-friendly activities, from parades to concerts in the park. For updates on schedules and participating vendors, visit RiverboatDays.ca
