On July 31st, Terrace RCMP responded to an urgent report of a woman screaming for help on Dobbie Street in Thornhill. She claimed that a man was threatening to shoot her and others.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect in possession of an illegal baton and took him into custody. The woman had already left the scene and was confirmed safe at another location. Concerned for the safety of anyone inside the residence, police entered the home to conduct a welfare check. During this check, they observed various weapons and drug paraphernalia.
Due to the nature of the items found, police exited the residence to obtain a search warrant. That evening, the warrant was executed, leading to the seizure of a substantial arsenal. Among the items recovered were handguns, assault rifles, bolt action rifles, shotguns, and other assorted firearms. Additionally, officers found loaded prohibited magazines and a large quantity of ammunition.
Following the search, the man was released under specific conditions and has a scheduled court appearance. The results of the investigation will be forwarded to BC Prosecution Services once complete.
