Chetwynd RCMP are searching for 28-year-old James Joseph Edmund Barnes, who went missing while grouse hunting. Barnes was last seen on October 18 around 11 a.m. near Ground Birch Road off the 269 Road in his grey 2004 Chevrolet pickup with BC license plate LJ1 O79, accompanied by his golden retriever, Murphy. His vehicle has been located, but he and his dog have not been found. Police were notified of his disappearance on the same day when he failed to return home. Search and Rescue teams have been engaged, but their efforts have so far been unsuccessful. Authorities are appealing to the public for information regarding Barnes’ whereabouts or any sightings of his vehicle.
James Joseph Edmund Barnes is described as Caucasian male, 28 years old, 5’ 11 (180 cm) 201 lbs (91 kg) Brown hair Brown eyes and a Big moustache Last seen wearing a green/blue TC Energy ball cap, green or blue hoodie and jeans.
