In Prince Rupert The Boil Water Notice, first issued in November, is now expected to remain in place for an additional 4-6 weeks. As previously reported, an isolated section of pipe in the newly installed water supply main has caused water to sit too long, raising concerns about potential contamination. The City and contractors have identified the issue and begun corrective work, with a projected completion date by the end of February. Efforts will be made to reduce the timeframe where possible.
Northern Health has advised that the Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until the necessary construction and water quality testing are completed. The City appreciates the community’s patience as critical repairs to the water distribution system are carried out.
