LNG Canada has announced that increased flaring activity, originally scheduled for December 17th, will now begin on January 20th and continue intermittently over a four-week period.
This is part of the safe start-up commissioning for Canada’s first LNG export facility.
During this time, the flare height may reach approximately 25 meters, and community members might notice increased noise and visible emissions.
LNG Canada says these fluctuations in flare size are normal and a key part of the commissioning process.
