The Canadian Cancer Society is calling for volunteers in Prince Rupert, Terrace, and Kitimat to join its Wheels of Hope program.
This initiative provides free transportation for cancer patients to attend medical appointments and has recently expanded to northwest BC with additional provincial funding.
The program is seeking at least five volunteers in each community to help patients who may not have access to transportation or support.
Volunteers will be reimbursed for mileage and can also receive tax receipts.
In addition to easing the financial burden of travel and accommodation for patients, this service is vital for those undergoing treatment.
If you’d like to volunteer, visit the Canadian Cancer Society’s website or contact their office. All drivers are thoroughly screened to ensure safety.
