In Terrace Crews will be working over the next two months to upsize the main sewer line that leads into the City’s sewage treatment plant, with the project expected to be completed by the end of March. To ensure the safe operation of the sewer system, pumps and generators will be running 24 hours a day, which may cause some noise disruptions. There may also be temporary traffic reroutes in the 5100 block of Graham Avenue, likely onto Mills Street and Apple Street. Residents in the area have already been notified.
The project involves upsizing the sewer line, installing new manholes, and repaving the affected section of Graham Avenue, which is scheduled for the Spring. This upgrade is funded in part through the Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance Agreement, which awarded the City of Terrace almost $35 million over five years for infrastructure renewal, including roads, water, and sewer systems.
