Northern Health is inviting communities in Northern BC to apply for the IMAGINE community grants, offering up to $10,000 to support health and wellness initiatives. The grants are designed to fund community-led projects addressing local health priorities such as mental wellness, food security, active living, harm reduction, and community safety.
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations, First Nations Bands and health centres, municipalities, schools, and community service agencies. Projects must focus on improving the well-being of residents, with preference given to initiatives that foster partnerships, meet identified community needs, and aim to reduce health inequities. The funding is also aimed at projects that build local capacity and have a lasting impact beyond the grant period.
The application window is open until May 16, with successful applicants notified in June. Northern Health has previously funded projects like bike racks at local schools, mental wellness programs in Haida Gwaii, and food security initiatives across the region.
