Hugo Evans RBRTH clothing, Quinton Nyce Savage Kids and SNRK, and Darren Metz also SNRK, Nyce and Metz originally from Kitimat Village, are facing a challenging recovery after a massive fire destroyed their studios and equipment in East Vancouver. The fire, which broke out early Wednesday morning on East Hastings Street, caused extensive damage to the businesses of Evans’ clothing brands, RBRTH and Savage Kids, as well as a recording studio operated by Nyce and Metz. The blaze wiped out crucial materials, machinery, and prototypes for both clothing lines, leaving them unable to fulfill existing contracts and continue production.
Nyce and Metz, known for their work with Snotty Nose Rez Kids, had recently expanded their recording studio, which was also destroyed in the fire. They lost all their recording equipment, soundproofing, and personal items tied to their music careers, including awards and irreplaceable artifacts.
In response to the overwhelming support from the community, the artists have launched a donation campaign to help replace lost equipment and rebuild their studios. They are accepting donations of any size, with all proceeds going to the affected parties. Despite this setback, Evans, Nyce, and Metz remain focused on rebuilding their businesses and continue creating, expressing deep gratitude for the ongoing support they’ve received.
