The avalanche risk brought on by heavy snow is keeping some areas highways closed, possibly until Thursday afternoon.
The Ministry of Transportation says Highway 16 is shut down 13 km east of Prince Rupert to 35 km west of Terrace and isn’t expected to open until 2 p.m.
The route has been closed since Wednesday afternoon.
The Nisga’a Highway between Gingolx and Laxgalts’ap also isn’t expected to open before 2 p.m.
