A 55-year-old man is charged with several offences after a sexual assault near Smithers.
RCMP arrested Kevin Larry Dunseath after a report that a woman was held against her will and physically and sexually assaulted at a remote location west of the community.
Police say the woman was eventually taken to friend’s home and police were contacted. She then took police to the property where they arrested a man matching the description given.
Dunseath is charged with sexual assault, overcome resistance by attempting to choke or suffocate, forcible confinement, and obstructing a police officer.
He remains in custody and is scheduled to make his next court appearance on Wednesday, February 28 2018 in Smithers
