Highway 16 is closed between Prince Rupert and Terrace due to high avalanche hazard.
The Ministry of Transportation shut down the route at about noon Tuesday.
The road is not expected to reopen until 9:00 pm Tuesday.
Crews have been conducting daily avalanche control work along the route since the weekend.
Highway 16 between the two cities has had multiple closures this year due to avalanche risk.
