The Joint Rescue Coordination Center responded to calls of a sinking ship near Prince Rupert this morning.
Upon arrival, crews from 3 coast guard ships and one volunteer vessel, found the 72 foot fishing vessel taking on water near Triple Island.
One of the three crew members aboard the sinking vessel was suffering from a medical emergency at the time of the crews’ arrival and was immediately brought to Prince Rupert for medical attention.
The Cape Dawson and the Royal Canadian Navy Search and Rescue assisted with their extraction from the vessel.
The other two crew members were also brought to Prince Rupert on the Cape Dawson following the sinking of the fishing vessel at around 1:30 Monday afternoon.
