Highway 16 is closed in both directions 5km west of New Hazelton.
The transportation ministry says hydro lines are down across the road.
There is a detour available via South Hazelton.
BC Hydro is reporting nearly 900 customers without power in the Hazelton, Gitanyow, and Kitwanga areas.
