Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen continued his criticism of the federal government’s decision to purchase the Trans Mountain Pipeline in statements made yesterday.
Cullen called the purchase the “biggest lemon in Canadian history”, saying that the pipeline was valued at around 2.5 billion dollars and was purchased for 550 million just 10 years ago.
The government spent 4.5 billion to purchase the then Kinder Morgan owned pipeline last month.
Cullen went on to call it an economically frustrating situation, saying the government never budgeted for the 4.5 billion, the additional 10 billion to finish the project, or the 1 billion in insurance that could be required shoulc a leak arise.
