Experts now claim that, while the void would be next to impossible for existing Canadian companies to fill, they could become part of a bigger equation.
Professor of urban studies at Simon Fraser University, Anthony Perl, says that a combination of online programs, alternative models, and government assistance could help smaller Canadian transportation companies fill the role.
It won’t be easy though, says Perl, as significant policy changes on both the provincial and federal scales will be required to see a sustainable solution.
