Alberta Premier Rachel Notley is calling for the Federal Government to immediately bring yesterday’s Trans Mountain Pipeline ruling before Canada’s highest court.
According to the Premier, the decision undermines Canada’s sovereignty and economic security and binds them too titly to the United States as trading partners.
Notley claims that Alberta did everything right in the situation and blames both the current and previous federal governments for putting expansion project in a practically impossible situation.
Alberta’s Premier responded to yesterday’s Federal Court of Appeal decision by pulling her province from the National Climate-Change Plan in protest.
Now, she is calling for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to not only bring an appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada, but also to call Parliament together for an emergency session.
