Representatives from communities across the province will gather in whistler today for the beginning of the 115th annual Union of BC Municipalities Convention.
The 5 day event represents the best opportunity each year for local governments to come together to share and discuss their plans for the future while lobbying with provincial reps.
While hundreds of topics will be discussed, the four that stick out above the rest this year are: cannabis legalization, TransLink funding, reforms to local campaign finance, and speculation and health payroll taxes.
The convention will wrap up on Friday with an address from Premier John Horgan.
