The First Presbyterian Church in Prince Rupert is one of six culturally significant sites at risk of being forgotten, according to a release from Heritage BC.
The unique gothic-style wooden church first opened in 1925, with renovations in 1980.
On March 30th of this year, the church held its final service and was listed for sale the following day, despite being designated a heritage site by the city in 1991.
With no heritage commission or committee in place in Prince Rupert, there is nothing preventing the next owners from performing heritage-altering renovations.
