All 60 BC school districts will now feature updated codes of conduct which seek to eliminate sexual discrimination.
The Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, or SOGI, program will move in to phase 2 of its 3 step program with the support of every kindergarten to grade 12 public and independant educational partner on board.
Phase 2 of the program encourages schools to become more visually welcoming and inclusive with banners, stickers and quotes, and supports additional LGBTQ+ educational materials.
Minister of education Rob Fleming says the program is a positive step towards eliminating discrimination in classrooms.
