Northern Health is aware of concerns over the availability of ophthalmology care in Prince Rupert which has been a hot topic of late.
According to Communications Officer Eryn Collins, Northern Health is exploring solutions.
Collins says the highly specialized nature of the field makes expanding in to other communities much more difficult.
She went on to say that, while a previously available visiting service is no longer an option, there are other methods for patients to find the care they need.
Many patients in the Prince Rupert area have voiced concerns lately over the difficulties of travelling to Terrace to access the often critical services, especially with winter conditions on the way.
