Three more sawmills in BC will see production cuts as Canfor continues a trend that began at the end of last year.
Mills in Houston and Mackenzie will see production curtailed by one week in the first quarter, while a mill in Vavenby will face 6 weeks of cutbacks beginning on February 11th.
According to the company, these recent cuts will reduce production by approximately 40 million board feet.
That’s in addition to 150 million board feet of production capacity cuts announced late last year.
Market condition, supply constraints, and log costs are the main reasons for the curtailments.
