New technology will make it easier for sport fishers to report and record their catch.
Beginning next season, the DFO will be going digital, making reliable catch data more easily attainable.
Under the new system, recreational fishers of lingcod and chinook salmon will be able to electronically send in catch information.
It will also make regulation enforcement easier as the Department moves towards electronic licensing over paper alternatives.
