2.24 million dollars in provincial funding over the next 2 years will help support the continued development of the BC Assembly of First Nations’ economic development strategy.
Thanks to their funding, the BCAFN will further expand their efforts towards economic reconciliation and governance for First Nations.
Among the Assembly’s most significant efforts is the development of a black book which guides communities with a new resource plan.
Those are set to be printed and released next month.
In addition, the funding will allow the Assembly to work with the Business Council of BC to create a Champions Table.
That table will be made up of First Nations Chiefs and industry CEOs who will discuss economic reconciliation and governance.
